Kate M. Silverman
Kate is a San Francisco native and received her Master of Occupational Therapy from Samuel Merritt University in Northern California. She began her career at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, now the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab, working with patients with spinal cord injury. U.S. News & World Report has ranked the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab the No. 1 rehabilitation hospital in the country every year since 1991, for 36 consecutive years. Kate then moved to Boston, where she began to specialize in injuries of the hand and upper extremity, working primarily with musicians’ injuries, then broadening her experience working with orthopedic hand and upper extremity injuries. Kate is certified in Active Release Technique.
Kate eventually found her way back to her home state of California, working in Santa Monica before relocating to Santa Barbara following the tragic Los Angeles wildfires in January 2025. Kate has a passion for fitness, with a deep love for hiking and the outdoors. Kate often incorporates the importance of general wellness, exercise and life balance as a major component of healing.
